World’s oldest Yoga teacher Tao Porchon-Lynch and India’s oldest Yoga guru Amma Nannamal came together to demonstrate various yoga asanas in Bengaluru at Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium today on the occasion of the third International Yoga Day.
Mysuru breaks the record of Rajpath , with over 54,101 yoga performers performing yoga at the Race Course grounds, Mysuru. Earlier, Guinness world record was recorded 33,900 performers performing at Rajpath, Delhi.
International Yoga Day made its debut in 2015. And on the very first edition, the country had set not one but two Guinness World Records. One for the largest yoga lesson at the Rajpath and other for maximum participation by foreign nationals.
Now, in its third edition, Indians are all set to break the Guinness record for the Longest Yoga Chain. More than 8,000 schoolchildren formed the “longest yoga chain” in front of the iconic Mysuru Palace, Mysuru in Karnataka on 19th June 2017 to create a new world record.

The Maha Shivaratri Festival will be celebrated by Hindus the world over on March 7, and is celebrated annually in reverence of the Hindu God ‘Shiva’.
